Frequently Asked Questions
What is RC&D?
Resource Conservation & Development (RC&D) is a national rural development program designed to bring together groups, organizations, and other local sponsors to help improve social, economic, and environmental conditions in their communities or regions.
RC&D is a unique federal and local partnership between the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and local volunteer councils. The Premise of the RC&D program is that local people know what is best for their communities. Because of this, local people created and organize their own RC&D areas, define their own goals, and work with a broad range of public and private entities to achieve their objectives.
